Our 30th Anniversary

Heart problems: many of my older patients develop heart problems. You may notice they don’t have as much energy as before, or they may start to cough. We usually need to take radiographs (X-rays) of their heart and lungs, and we may need to do an EKG. We have many drugs that can help control their heart disease, greatly improve the quality of their lives, and extend their lives.

Nervous system disorders: We see many types of nervous system problems. We divide them into problems that affect the peripheral nervous system (nerves going to your dog’s legs and body) and those affecting the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord). We see back problems, seizures, and brain and spinal cord tumors, among other problems. Some of these are readily treatable - others are not.
